Wanted: Artists
I am interested in interviewing artists from all corners of the art box. Read the Press Release from the Hull Times...
Here ye here ye, calling all artists: cooks, painters, craftsmen, storytellers, glass makers, boat builders, etc., etc.
Hull Community TV volunteer, Randy Veraguas, is looking to start another top quality show. This round, 10 years after her last local show was produced for children (Snuggle Up With Me), she is coming back to the studio to entertain ALL ages. Alluring Artists will be a weekly spot showcasing local talent. If you have an artistic ability and want to feature it on the air, Randy would love to interview you and show off your stuff! We'll shoot in our studio or on location at yours. If you are passionate about your art, but feel it's not worthy of being displayed on a local tv show, then by all means, don't call us, because we are going to put your art up for the whole world to see! (that is if they happen to get Comcast Channel 22 or Verizon 34.) Yes, this will be fun fun fun for everyone! Age does not matter. And remember that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Come on all you Alluring Artists, time to gasconade your goods!
Please email Randy at [email protected] if you would like to be the next Alluring Artist.

Our 1st Shoot!
It's official folks! We are making history in Hull! Our first guest, Franny, the owner of Oceanside 17 Gallery just spent an hour with me chatting about her passion for acrylic painting and the arts in general. Karen Brown was there filming us and my good friend Kathy Kraysler was our live audience member. I think it was a hit. If the viewers enjoy the show just half as much as I enjoyed doing the interview, Alluring Artists is off to a very hot start! What fun. Indeed. I feel so lucky getting to interview artists as nice and knowledgeable as Franny. I can't wait to share our conversation with Hull viewers. Look for a new post here regarding when the show will air.
I want to shout out a big thanks to Lucy, one of Franny's talented daughters, for taking this picture of Franny and me inside the Oceanside 17 Gallery.
4th ShootAlways wondered what whittler's whistled while whittling wood on Wednesday? Well, now you'll know! Stay tuned... |
balquistcarving.comNow I took woodshop in the 8th grade and made little book end. This woman, Carol Balquist, puts my teacher to shame. It's like she's been reincarnated from the Olympian Greek days. I am certain her ancestors were the ones who built the fabulously breathtaking pillars that still stand and lie about in the quiet olive filled hillsides of Greece. Watch the show and see for yourself, or better yet, check out her website or go pay her a visit. She's a wealth of woody information, a real treat. We're lucky in Hull to have such a talented resident.

5th shootTra la la la la la la la SPLASH Now why would I write "Splash" after Tra la la la la? It's a clue, silly! Watch the show and it will make sooo much sense. |
Cinzi LavinShe's busy writing more music for her 2nd Hull Musical, this round about Joshua James.
We had a blast freezing our buns off at the Life Saving Museum and chatting about her amazing talents. Check it out! Click on left button to hear a most beautiful song about Hull written by and sung by Cinzi Lavin. "Under a Hullonian Sky" |
8th ShootWhy is this numbered 330? Keep reading...you know the game now. :)

Lisa Daria http://lisadaria.blogspot.comBecause she paints a painting a day. That my friend, is painting #330, the painting Lisa made on the day we shot her episode of Alluring Artist. Not only can she paint, but she teaches Photoshop, and computer stuff, and is a fabulous Graphic Artist to boot! Check in with Lisa on her blog. She's talented and has a huge heart. Her cancer awareness project will blow you away...so creative and helpful!
